This beautiful piece features our beloved signature style bucket bilum drenched with natural fibre, handwoven ‘flowers’. These flower adornments are made traditionally in East Sepik to decorate baskets. The shorter leather strap makes this ideal as a day to evening statement accessory to sling over your forearm or use as a clutch. Part of our Kalea Collection and perfect for summer styling. Grab your sunnies and lipstick and enjoy!
Handcrafted by our team of artisans in Papua New Guinea using traditional processes and weaving techniques. The basket is created completely by hand starting with processing local ‘rmungus’ tree bark into fibres, through to twisting the fibre strands into string and finally weaving the string into beautiful patterns. Each individual basket honours and celebrates the traditional techniques, knowledge and skill involved in Papua New Guinean bilum weaving.
Due to the handmade process and traditional fibres used to create your piece, imperfections are normal and add to the charm of your piece. Some natural softening and colour change may occur over time.
